本校年度野餐 NWCS Annual Summer Picnic

Sunday June 16^th at Redmond Perrigo Park from 11-2pm
还有四个星期本学年就要结束了。如果你和很多人一样期望夏天的到来，PTA开始筹办我校每年一度的夏日野餐会。这次我们不光有烧烤，还增加了很多新的游戏和小朋友的活动，一定不要错过啊！每家也请带一拿手的家乡菜或点心和大家分享，一起渡过这快乐的时光。为了能让PTA准备足够的烧烤和饮料，请务必到我们的野餐网站登记参加人数和义工细节。Only four weeks left till the end of this school year. As we look forward to the summer, PTA has started to prepare our school's annual summer picnic. In addition to the BBQ, PTA will organize also some new games and activities for children. Don’t miss the fun with your schoolmates and meet other parents! Please bring one homemade dish or dessert to share. In order to prepare enough food and drinks for all the families, please RSVP via our school picnic website and for more volunteering details. 

 

 

只剩下两个周六可购买超市礼卷 All remainder gift certificates will be sold by June 1^st

PTA为班级筹款的途径之一就是销售本地几家华人商场的礼卷, 每张面额的5％会回到购买者相应的班费，作为活动经费。随着学年底的到来，本学年度的礼卷销售也将随之结束。为了增加你孩子班里的活动经费，请在6月一日前到PTA值勤处购买你需要的礼卷，先到先得，售完即止。

One of the ways for PTA to raise funds for class activities is through the sale of gift certificates from local Chinese supermarkets, whereby 5% of the face value of the certificates go to the class designated by the buyer.  As the school year comes to a close, so does the sale of store gift certificates.  To increase the amount of class fund for your children's class, please come to the PTA parent-on-duty desk to purchase the gift certificate that you need by June 1.  The gift certificates are on a first-come, first-served basis, but are gone when all is sold.

 

家教实例讲座Parenting seminar

Author of the book “Dream college admissions made possible”  

A reflection and advice from a Chinese parent with Ivy league college students. Here is the seminar introduction with Dr. Jiang’s own words: ”My wife and I are first-generation immigrants to the United States. We did not have formal classroom experience in this country. It took us many years of trial and error to navigate the American educational system. If our children can do it, so can any student in America. It is our sincere hope that our reflections provide some guidance for all present and future parents in preparing children for their dream colleges.” At the end of the seminar, you can purchase his book onsite and there will be a book signing in the classroom.

Seattle Chinese Garden Society Bamboo & Peony Festivals
Saturday-Sunday, May 18-19, 10am-4pm.  Free.
The Garden presents a double festival focused on two prized plants in Chinese horticulture.  Come celebrate the first blossoms on the tree peony plants donated by the city of Luoyang, China's "peony capital".  The festivals feature plant displays, bamboo sales, and a raffle for Luoyang peony plants. A program of talks and demonstrations on both days includes presentations on peony and bamboo care by horticulture experts, and arts and craft items for sale.  Visit the Garden website  www.seattlechinesegarden.org for more details and program schedule.

家长值勤安排 Parent-on-duty

The next classes for parent-on-duty are as follows:

           May 04             AM - 6E;  PM - 5C

Each class will need 2 parents for safety patrol, and 2 parents for the gift certificate sales.  AM refers to classes starting at 9am, and PM refers to classes starting at 12noon.  PTA Leads, please inform the parents of the specific duties and procedures.

Please take a look at the overall class duty calendar to know your class' scheduled date, and prepare to organize the parent duties about 2 weeks ahead of time. If you have any questions or your role has been transferred to other parents, please contact Minggang Li at: ming.li@nwchinese.org
