学动脑，玩乐高 LEGO classes for kids are full!

If your kids names were on the waiting list, please come and pay your class fee at the PTA desk this Saturday. We will take in the order as we received. Please note, the class fee of $30 dollars is non refundable if your kids at the end can’t attend or miss any of the classes. More details of room numbers will be informed in our next weekly communication. If you have any questions, please contact Li Xu: pta@nwchinese.org

2012 CIE/USA-Seattle Math Comp and Science Fun Program

    This year Chinese Institute of Engineers - Seattle chapter will host the 2012 annual CIE/USA-Seattle Math Comp and Science Fun Program again at Sammamish High School, Bellevue. The program details is in the attachment.  Interested students please complete the online Registration Form by 10/24/2012. Safety patrol parents can get the orange safety patrol jackets from the Admin desk, and stay about 30 minutes after classes begin.  Gift certificate sales parents can get the gift certificates from the accountant, Ms. Xu, Min, and stay through 11am for morning classes, and 1:30 for afternoon classes.  Please remember to record the classes for which the certificates are purchased, because 5% of the purchase goes to that respective class fund.

学动脑，玩乐高 LEGO classes for kids

PTA今年提出的最新课外活动 - 学动脑，玩乐高！以下是PTA部分赞助的两个不同年级的乐高班。为了达到最好效果，每班每堂课只收最多20名学生。这星期六开始到PTA处报名。最先报名和交费的20位学生优先录取。每学生每堂课交费 $15美金。若一次报名三堂课，只需交费 $30美金。交费方式:cash or check。两个课程详情如下。有问题请联系许励Li Xu: pta@nwchinese.org

1.      LEGO Jr Engineer class from LEAP4Kidz™ offers an integrated STEM curriculum including science, technology, engineering, math, as well as history, language arts, and team decision making to children using LEGO® bricks and motors.  This is a hands-on class where students will build and design with Legos and receive an introduction to levers, gears, pulleys and more using batteries and motors to bring their creations to life!
学生年级要求 2nd - 4th grade;

三周课程日期 3 weeks dates: 10/20, 10/27, 11/3.

2.      LEGO Jr Builder class from LEAP4Kidz™  offers an integrated STEM curriculum including science, technology, engineering, math, as well as history, language arts, and team decision making to children using LEGO® bricks.  This is a hands-on class where students will build and design with Lego bricks creating things from the world around them!

学生年级要求 K – 1st grade
三周课程日期 3 weeks dates: 10/20, 10/27, 11/3.

Supporting our PTA fundraising mission this year, we have brought in qualified sponsorships from our local business partners. With their generous sponsorships, PTA can provide a series of meaningful seminars to our parents free of charge, support our local business growth and fund (partially) creative extra-curricular programs for our kids at NWCS. This week's seminars are:

超市礼卷从本周开始销售 Start of gift certificates at the PTA desk
PTA代售的超市礼卷是我们班级活动经费的一个重要来源，每张礼卷销售额的5％会转化为班级活动经费。销售活动从本周开始，请在9:30-1:30到PTA办公桌(靠近学校行政办公桌)购买。

请尚未选出PTA lead的各班老师和家长完成选举.

每个班的PTA是老师，家长，和孩子们之间重要桥粱，是我们办学成功的重要成份。请家长们积极参与PTA活动，配合各班老师本周完成PTA lead选举，好让我们尽快开展活动。我们特别需要下午班的家长们完成这项选举。PTA is an important bridge between teachers, parents, and students, is an important component in the school's operations.  We invite all parents to participate in PTA activities, especially finishing the election for the PTA lead this week so that we can carry our activities forward.  We especially need the afternoon class parents to participate in this election.

早上由1A班，下午由1D班值勤。请该两班PTA lead和家长们把值勤人员安排好。On Oct 6., class 1A will take the morning PTA duties, and 1D will take the afternoon duties.  PTA leads and parents from those classes please make the appropriate arrangements. PTA needs more volunteers

Here is a list of specific areas PTA needs your help during the Fall semester. Please reply this email and indicate the areas you would like to help with:

1.      Helpers for the Used book/DVD fair fundraising event in early November

2.      Fundraising marketing communication with retail business like Everything party / Amazon / Target for shopping rewards to NWCS

3.      Help at the PTA desk (near the Admin desk) to answer parents questions from 9-11 or 11-12 or 12-2

4.      Need more PTA Leads from the afternoon classes 

 

图书馆通知-请归还所有借出的图书馆书籍和DVD.Please Return All Library Materials this Saturday 

根据我们的记录，现在还有三十几位家长没有归还借出的书籍和DVD。请您这星期六务必将所有借出的书籍和DVD还到NWCS图书馆以避免罚金。时间/地点为9:30am to 12:30pm 在admin附近。Our record indicates that there are thirty some parents have not yet returned books or DVDs to the library. Please remember to return all library materials this Saturday to avoid any fines. The time/location is from 9:30am to 12:30pm at the library desk near the admin area.

Impressions of JiangNan, presented by Seattle Ensemble of Songs and Dances (SESD), will be held on October 20^th 2012 at Northshore Performing Arts Center. SESD will provide 2:30pm tickets to NWCS at the group price of $20 each (original $25 each). Also, for every tickets purchased by NWCS teachers, parents and students, SESD  will donate $5 to your student’s class fund.Please order your tickets Saturday 9:30am to 12:30pm near NWCS Admin desk. Please remember to register your student's name and the name of your student's class. Any questions, please email pta@nwchinese.org
